Empowering professional communications beyond the network reach

Max mesh professional mobile radio

Max mesh professional mobile radio is a software layer that effectively combines the advantages of fixed mesh and mobile dynamic ad-hoc networks, based on the end unit for voice, data and video applications. The max mesh system automatically adapts to varying network conditions, degrees of client mobility, and relevant RF environmental conditions on a packet-by-packet basis, creating a virtual infrastructure with a powerful, ad-hoc, self-healing and self-routing multi-user network. These features, along with a very effective bandwidth allocation method, enable the deployment and operation of true mesh networks with high performance and low costs, giving an extremely high ROI per network/device. The max mesh core is a breakthrough software algorithm that enables all mobile radios and communication devices to become part of a Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET). The technology is centered on an optimized and proven hybrid routing algorithm that combines both proactive and reactive routing techniques to enable a highly scalable network solution. The technology utilizes a contention-free Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Medium Access Control (MAC) scheme, preventing collisions over the medium and assuring high Quality of Service (QoS). The max-mesh software can be embedded as software in various communication systems that support multiple RF ranges to suit your existing radio-system design.

  • Ad-hoc, dynamically self organized mesh network
  • Maximum reliability due to flat hierarchy (no master/slave) with out single point of failure
  • Superior QoS and high voice capacity due to voice optimized protocol
  • Data transfer unaffected by constant movement including high-speed travel
  • Unit identification (MAC)
  • Secure platform
  • AES 128/256 encryption available on demand
  • Data terminal interfaces
  • support standard IPv4 / IPv6

Max-mesh gateway

The max-mesh PMR gateway software is a connectivity solution that utilizes mobile ad-hoc mesh networks with an existing radio communication infrastructure to enable voice and data to traverse through several network segments. This allows teams in remote locations to communicate over VHF/UHF, Tetra or APCO 25 networks.
The software provides routing paths for max-mesh PMR users to communicate with users on other networks such as UHF/VHF, HF, Tetra and 900Mhz Land Mobile Radio (LMR). Connecting to external networks extends the reach and flexibility of the max-mesh network radio system.
Designed to interface with Tetra systems as well as with many UHF/VHF radios, users will have Private and Broadcast PTT functionality depending on legacy radio capability.

Max-mesh IP gateway

The max-mesh IP gateway for max-mesh network radios provides a link for two or more max-mesh networks that are geographically dispersed to communicate with one another. The IP gateway extends the reach and flexibility of the maxtech max-mesh radio network system, and supports simultaneous voice and data communications over-the-horizon using an IP access point. Data from non-maxtech networks, such as sensors or smartphone data applications, can also be directed through the IP gateway to the maxtech max-mesh network or non-maxtech radio networks

Reference design kit

The maxtech mobile mesh technology reference design kit is a software and hardware development toolkit for integration into custom-made radios or other end user devices.

    Main features

  • Novell voice optimized routing algorithm
  • Voice and broadband data simultaneously
  • Multiple number of users and groups
  • Broadcast, groups and private calls
  • No single point of failure - flat network hierarchy

    Deliverables

  • PCB productions files
  • Bill of material
  • Layer 3 driver

    Mechanical concept

  • It is advisable to comply with the Mini PCIe mechanical dimensions (50.95 X 30 X 4.7mm) (height is an exception to the standard)
